To keep your arthritis pain and swelling to a minimum, you should not smoke. Research has indicated that smokers have more issues with joint swelling and pain related to arthritis than nonsmokers. Think about quitting smoking if you suffer from arthritis. If you need extra help breaking yourself of your vices, ask your physician about prescription medications for smoking cessation.
Your body is like an engine, so it needs both oxygen and nutrients to keep on chugging along. Eating regularly will keep fuel moving to all the parts of your body which need it, from your muscles to your brain, and that will help to keep fatigue at bay. Eat at least 5 small meals a day and you’ll get your energy back! If you’re feeling pain, before you treat it yourself, make sure that it is actually arthritis. Treating an unrelated condition as if it were arthritis only leads to a waste of time and money.
