Having sharp knives when you are cooking is very important. Dull knives are dangerous and difficult to use. It is very easy to accidentally cut yourself when you’re struggling to cut something with a knife that is dull.
In order for herbs and spices to remain fresh and flavorful, they need to be kept in an area that is cool and dim. If you store herbs and spices in places that have a lot of heat, they will lose their flavor. This can cost money. Fried rice can be an excellent way to use up some of the leftovers in your fridge. Cold, day-old rice works great, but if you desire to use fresh rice be sure to use less water to make the rice drier. It helps to first fry meats and vegetables prior to adding rice and spices such as soy sauce and garlic.
Cooking with apples in autumn and winter is popular, however they must be stored correctly to prevent spoiling. You can keep apples fresh by storing them in a cool basement or refrigerator as warm or dry air makes them rot. One rotten apple can actually spoil the whole bag so make sure you keep an eye your apples.
